I'm resting my arms
because I have to fly to Austin tomorrow. heh heh
There isn't a direct flight, but I have a one stop (so I don't have to change planes). It is one of those little ones though, so no first class. Eh, I'm flying American. They don't even know who I am. Actually, no one does anymore. The last trip I had to take (ok, besides that loooooong drive cross country when we moved) was in mid-November, and then the family came with me. The move definitely cut down on my travel. I am out of practice. I think I'm going to check my bag tomorrow!
I'll be back on Thursday, but I have to go in the office for orientation, so that will make for a long day. I'm hoping to take most of Friday off. You know that won't really happen. Hey, the kids have Thursday and Friday off from school though. As a matter of fact, we have to meet Aly's teacher on Friday to talk about putting her in the Gifted and Talented program. Yes, my daughter goes to the best school system in the nation and they think she should be in GT. whooops, sorry, tripped over my pride there.
Mike got a temp job this week. We're excited for him to get out and make contacts. It has been a long wait for him to find something ... government job searches take a long time. The timing is a little strange -- Zak will be picking Aly up from school Tuesday and Wednesday since I'll be gone. There isn't supposed to be any more snow this week, so they'll BE FINE CALM DOWN NANA!! Sorry, she's a little overprotective.
Speaking of snow, I did take a few snapshots of the kids in the yard on Sunday. See one on my Fotolog (link at the left). It was only a couple of inches, but school was delayed two hours this morning and the roads were a mess with slideoffs yesterday. We couldn't go anywhere, so I sat at the desk and actually completed a layout. I think it is pretty cool, and it was fun for me to remember my younger years. The pictures are mounted on cardstock and I journaled on the back. Yes, that is stitching on the page. The papers and embellishments are from the Memory Creators September Kit. It made it so easy to pull everything together, because it all matched. I liked that I went with the kit's color scheme and didn't try to match the colors in the pictures. Having a LO done makes me even more excited to finish some more. I still have a few that are only 'mostly' done, so maybe I can accomplish a little more once I'm back in town this weekend.
By the way, if you want to see REALLY good scrapbooking, visit the MC gallery, or some of those "Web Friends" on the left side of my blog. Most of those girls are real scrapping professionals.
I'm not sure if my hotel will have internet, so have a great week, and I hope I do *not* return with another travel tirade to share.
