Vacation Days 1-2
We started out slow for the week. Sunday included a trip to Wal-Mart to buy a fire pit for the patio, dinner at Hard Times Cafe and a movie in the basement, War of the Worlds.
Monday was leisurely too. The girls started with pedicures and the boys went to Manassas. Aly's piano lesson was at 2:00, and we all met back at the house by 3:30 to go to Arlington National Cemetery. Since it was a quick trip, we decided to drive in versus paying for 6 of us to ride the Metro. I missed the turn to the cemetery, so we drove through downtown, around the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial, and alongside the Tidal Basin, where the Cherry Blossom Festival was in full swing. And I didn't have a nervous breakdown. After Arlington, we returned home to roast hot dogs and marshmallows in the fire pit, and caught Dancing with the Stars.
It only gets busier from here.
