I think I missed the Beltway

I went to the office today and traffic was pretty light because of the holiday this week. As I got on the Capital Beltway I realized that I missed it. The last two weeks I didn't do much driving but when I was out and about between the Bloomington Sheraton and the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport, the traffic was not bad at all. When we jumped on I-494 to go to the Mall of America, people in the van said, "Oh no, look at the traffic." "Traffic?" I sneered. "It's not traffic if you're moving."

So a day in the office was not so bad. I met with my team and let them know I'll now be heading up two projects. I met with the new team and set them on the path to productivity. A couple of calls, dozens of emails. Not a bad day's work. I even took a sandwich for lunch to save some cash (which meant I was starving for dinner tonight).

I think the best part of the day was when I got home and Aly ran to meet me and give me a giant hug. The kids were so happy to see Momma at home. Me too.
