Road Trip!
It was time for some bonding time with my Momma ...
First stop, Owensboro McDonald's for breakfast, but mostly because I had to go potty.
No road trip is complete without a wrong turn. We turned south on I-65, which seemed logical. Except we wanted to go to Flea Land in Bowling Green. There was some traffic on the interstate, so we took state highways back to town and drove by some old landmarks.
Mom has a moratorium on purse buying. She has 25 Etienne Aigner purses alone. She's sneaky though. She told me she was buying baby onesies and ended up with a purse. I can't be held responsible for that one.
Lunch was cheeseburgers and chili cheese fries. Calories (and fat) don't count on road trips.
Another stop: Goodlettsville, TN antique malls.
We made it to Nashville by 4:00 or so. The hotel (free with points!) was very nice and seemed relatively new.
Off to Opry Mills outlet mall. Tons of stores, tons of deals and Mom bought another purse. This time with a matching wallet. It was cute, I couldn't stop her.
I finally made a purchase at Old Navy. Got me and Mom a frost free vest plus a few other things.
We headed to the Rainforest Cafe around 7pm for dinner. There was an eighty (80) minute wait. Um, no thanks. We ended up at the Music City Buffet, which was pretty good, though service was severely lacking.
Back to the hotel around 8:30 and the TV won't come on. Maintenance fixed us up. Internet was working and the a/c was set on 62 degrees. Really. Actually I turned it up later, but Mom got up in the middle of the night to turn it back down. She said she needed the sound of the fan running to drown out my snores. I think she was just having hot flashes.
The hotel had free breakfast, and it was good. Eggs and biscuits and gravy mmmmmm.
We wanted to head to TJ Maxx but they weren't open yet, so we hit the clearance racks at Kmart. I got some great summer clothes for $3 apiece AND this great Jaclyn Smith dress for $3 too!
We found a CiCi's Pizza for lunch and had an uneventful ride home.
Tons of fun, shopping, eating and laughing with my momma. Can't wait for next time!
