Happy Hour

The leadership team at work is trying to keep the team connected as we grow larger, so each month one of us is planning an outing. I got July and picked the Nationals game for tonight, but it looked like rain and no one really wanted to blow so much money on beer and hot dogs and nachos, so we ended up at the Capitol City Brewing Company in DC, spending money on fancy beer and appetizers, including nachos.

I was a little disappointed by the turnout -- only five coworkers showed, but Mike came to support me and another woman brought her husband, so it felt like a bigger group. Then I was not so disappointed, because it was the first happy hour I'd ever hosted, and hey, five people came!

A few more people called after we had left to see where we were. So, I should clarify, the folks that showed up were closer to my age, versus the younger crowd, who didn't want to be home by 9pm. Once again, proof that I'm old.
