The Name Game
Pooky Pooky bo Booky
Banana Fanna Fo Fooky
Fee Fie Foe Mooky
Pooo-keeee!
Nope, not that name game.
If you've been paying attention to my Punkymood or my Tweets in the sidebar, you must know what we've been up to this weekend. After weeks of stalking craigslist and the humane society, we finally went to the shelter yesterday. I called about a baby named Sugar before we left and she was adopted by the time we got there. Her brother Spice was almost a sale but my heart was set on a baby girl.
Yes, we got a kitty. I suppose the surprise is that we got TWO kitties.
And they need names. Feel free to chime in.
This one is mine, currently named "Little Dino", as in Dino-mite! Because she's so frisky.
When I knew I wanted a little black and white kitty, I was going to name her Evey after the leading lady in V for Vendetta. Natalie Portman, meee-owwwww!
Since meeting her, I think I'm going to have to spend some time with her before I commit to a name. In the 20 minutes we were there, she warmed right up to me and was nipping at my hand and letting me rub her belly. She's petite for her age and will be a small cat. I think she's sleek vs. a fat cat.
This little addition, currently named "Little White" -- yes, the woman was fixated on "little" since she had about 50 cats in her basement and there were only about 7 that were little.
Anyway, this one jumped in during checkout like those darn packs of Bubbalicious bubble gum or those little pine tree air fresheners. She jumped in Aly's lap the minute we sat down and kept coming back, even though Aly was trying hard to like Dino better. By the time we got to the car, Aly was in tears and by the time we drove to the corner, her daddy was already telling me to call back and get this one too.
When I was thinking of my little black and white kitty named Evey, I thought her imaginary sister (surprise, it's twins!) would be named Ivy. Aly's thinking of the name "Snowy" since it started snowing as we left. Reminds me of the Bumble in Rudolph.
So, leave us ideas for names in the comments (yes, another shameless ploy to have folks comment -- c'mon you are anonymous if you want to be!!).
We pick our new babies up tomorrow sometime.
