Girls Week: Day 3

Day 2 recap: scored 7.892 out of 10 because Aly had a tummy ache. Word of the day: collarbone, as in "South Birdneck is near the collarbone"

Today's activities were largely driven by the incredible weather. It got up to at least 77 degrees, so we spent a great deal of time outside. After breakfast, we took our mile-and-a-half walk on the beach (Aly was barefoot!) to the Neptune statue and stopped to buy swim goggles on the way back to the hotel. Aly swam in the lazy river for about 90 min and I finished reading my book.
After lunch, we went to play on the beach. We built a sand-man that was quickly destroyed by the incoming tide, but I did capture some photos. Aly built some moats, dams and castles and played in the surf.
We've been hanging in the room since it got dark, but the deck door is open and the breeze feels great. We're listening to the Schoolhouse Rock DVD and scrapping photos from my 12th birthday party. We keep thinking we're hungry, but it seems we aren't so hungry that we want to change out of our jammies and go for food.
We're thinking things will be a little quieter over the next couple of days. We saw a lot of folks checking out of the hotel this morning.
I will come back and post photos once we get back home to the computer cord.
