Girls Week: Day 1
It took less than 3 hours to get to Va Beach ... there was NO traffic, but plenty of policemen, so don't think I exceeded the speed limit too much.
The hotel let us check in early (and gave us free water, a snack and coupons for breakfast), so we did, and checked out our ocean view, the pool, lazy river, kids camp (with a resident tortoise named Tonka), and beach front. And Aly jumped on the bed. We found Burger King for lunch and trekked to the scrapbook store.
After two food breaks and a trip to Michael's (to buy a new Sizzix Sidekick because I broke the one we got on eBay), we finally gave up after 7 hrs of scrapping. We each did two pages, which I suppose does not sound like much, but it was fun. We now know where to find Target, WalMart, TJ Maxx, Michael's, Sonic, Wendy's, Red Robin, the movie theater, Applebees and a million other shops and restaurants.
Tomorrow is supposed to be at least 60 degrees so we plan to hit the beach and build a sand/snowman. If kids camp is mostly empty, we can take our scrap stuff downstairs and spread out in front of the big screen TV. We also brought puzzle books, reading books, DVDs .. tons of things to do. Oh, and we're going to drive the beach to see the festival of lights.
But now, I'm ready for some mindless television and four fluffy pillows.
