Well, apparently, I was wrong ...
Mom just called. They DO have tropical storms in Boonville. They're seeing 60-70 mph winds and trees are down all over. No rain yet, but she thinks it is probably on the way. At least she doesn't have a basement to flood. For her it is the front yard.
